This variety of beans was originally cultivated by the Mandan Indians of the Dakotas. The great northern bean is an heirloom bean variety that is perfect for drying and using in different baked dishes. Semi-vining, 24-inch plants yield a prolific quantity of flat, 5-inch pods holding 5 to 6, large white beans. It can also be used as a shell bean at 65-day shell bean.85 days maturity. Excellent baking bean with outstanding consistency. Plants are semi-mining and prolific. Widely grown in northern tier states. Also used as a 65-day shell bean.

All our garden seeds are hand-selected and packaged in resealable airtight bags (each bag is individually labeled), and for the current growing season. Varietal information, growing tips, and germination test are printed on the seed packet. All seed packets are shipped in bubble mailers to protect them through their journey.

Our seeds are sourced from local growers and are grown using natural methods. We stand behind the quality of our seed. All our garden seeds are heirloom, open-pollinated, naturally grown, and Non-GMO. I have signed the "Safe Seed Pledge" and I do not sell GMO seeds.
