This San Marzano Paste Tomato is a determinate strain of the legendary paste tomato. A prolific producer of bright-red, slim, 3-4 inch fruit. It is a paste tomato with a pointy end, heavy walls, and little juice, which is excellent for tomato sauce. The oblong, red fruits can be processed into a rich, thick paste or sauce with unforgettable flavor. San Marzano is also an excellent tomato for sun drying. Holds well on the vine or in storage. Better tasting than Roma. Marzano tomatoes are thicker and pointier in shape. The flesh is much thicker with fewer seeds, and the taste is much stronger, sweeter, and less acidic. 70 to 90 days. Determinate.
