Tennis Ball Lettuce Heirloom Seeds Naturally Grown Non-GMO - Open Pollinated Gardening
Tennis Ball was among Thomas Jefferson's favorite lettuce varieties. He noted that "it does not require so much care and attention" as other types. Rather loose heads are petite, 4-6 inches in diameter, Bibb or Butterhead type. Historically it used to be pickled in brine and served as a side dish. The taste and texture of this lettuce were out of this world! Tennis Ball is distinctive for its delicate, pale-green leaves, which form a loosehead. Compact heads work well planted close together in tighter spaces. Black-seeded. Butterhead, 50 days.
