Oland Swedish Brown is one of our most popular dry beans. This attractive little jewel is traditionally used in Swedish baked bean dishes. Brown beans have been a staple in Sweden for hundreds of years. Though they were once grown in several areas of the country, Öland, an island off the southeast coast, is now the only place where they are still grown. This one matures and dries down more quickly than other dry bean varieties. This makes it an excellent choice for short-season areas and climates where fall rains can ruin beans as they dry down, reaching maturity in about 80 days. Not only are they early, but they are also incredibly productive!
