Asparagus Mary Washington Heirloom Garden Seeds. Considered the best open-pollinated asparagus to grow from seed. Marvelously productive. Green with purple color at the tip. Rust tolerant, largest, sweetest, most tender, and succulent shoots. We strongly recommend this variety for planting in the home garden or on the farm. Grows well in raised beds or box gardens. When harvesting, cut it near the crown. NEVER PULL. Don’t over-harvest. Weed by hand so you don’t damage the emerging shoots. Never cook Asparagus in an aluminum pan. Put Asparagus into water immediately when harvesting to retain moisture. 2-3 years, perennial. Non-GMO, open-pollinated.
