Dark Lolla Rossa type with heavily frilled intense burgundy leaves 5-7 in. circular mound more compact and slower growing than other Lolla Rossa types excellent for adding texture and color to a salad mix. A wonderful heirloom variety with a good old-fashioned taste. Crunchy red outer leaves, dark green heart, vigorous. Beautiful magenta leaves with tiny frills, and light green bases. Mild flavor. Small 5-8" leaves. Excellent for cut-and-come-again lettuce when thickly sown. Harvest Lettuce at any stage of growth. Fully mature at 45 days. Seeds can be sown directly into the garden when the soil is warm or started in containers and transplanted. This can be grown nicely in containers and clay pots
