A RARE Native American winter squash variety was grown by the Lakota Sioux. Lakota squash is unique and hardy winter squash. Its name comes from the Lakota Tribe of the Sioux Indians who initially raised the squash. Its distinct pear-shaped red, orange, and green colors make it a fun decorative piece. The fine-grained orange flesh is sweet, nutty, and excellent for baking. This squash will make a stunning fall decoration as well as beautiful meals in the winter. Lakota was once a stable of the Lakota Sioux people and was not widely available until recently. Excellent storing squash. The average weight is around 5-7 lbs, 85-105 days.
