Frisee Endive

Frisse endive grows best in cool conditions. The plant grows 8-12” tall and produces fine frilly leaves of a yellow-green color. They have a slightly bitter but mild taste that makes them the perfect addition to a mixed greens mix. They are also excellent cooked. Great greens for salads. An excellent choice for home gardens. Leaves are most popularly used in salads but are also excellent cooked and used in dishes. Plant in early fall for late-season harvests well after the first frost. Endive and Escarole are high in many vitamins and minerals, particularly vitamins A and K, along with folate (B9), and manganese. They are also a great source of fiber. Open Pollinated. 50-59 days
