Echinacea Purpurea Heirloom Medicinal Herb Seeds
The Echinacea plant is used to make medicine from its leaves, flower, and root. Large, deep purplish-pink blooms with contrasting orange cones standing above strong stems. Each bloom can reach 3-4 inches in diameter compared to other varieties, which reach only 2-3 inches. Once established, bushy plants produce clusters of stems attracting butterflies and beneficial insects to your garden, as well as making dramatic, long-lasting cut flowers.
Echinacea species are native to North America and were used as traditional herbal remedies by the Great Plains Indian tribes. Later, settlers followed the Indians’ example and began using Echinacea for medicinal purposes as well. Archaeologists have found evidence that Native Americans may have used Echinacea for more than 400 years to treat infections and wounds and as a general "cure-all."
