An improved strain of the Danvers carrot was introduced in 1947 by the Eastern States Farmers Exchange. Great flavor, reliable, sweet, stocky variety with broad shoulders can yield 2" diameter roots. Bright orange conical roots with strong tops make it easy to pull. Davers 126 is a heat-tolerant carrot variety that works in many soils. An excellent variety for canning, freezing, storing, and superb carrot juice. This is also a premier storage carrot. Widely adapted, open-pollinated. 65-75 days.

Plant in the spring in a well-prepared bed free of rocks. Sow 2 to 4 weeks before the average last frost. Sow seeds directly in shallow furrows 1/4" -1/8 "deep, covering a thin layer of soil. Thin to 2-3" apart once seedlings have come up. For a more extended harvest, sow every 2-3 weeks until 60 days before the first fall frost.
