Crosby's Egyptian Heirloom Beet Seeds
Crosby Egyptian Beet is an heirloom vegetable developed in Germany in the 1860s. Beets are very sweet and early without any “earthy” taste. One of the largest and earliest varieties, this plant will produce a heavy yield of round, flat, delicious beets ideal for pickling, boiling, or baking. The “Egyptian beet” was actually a German variety introduced to the U.S. in the 1860s. This perfect fall storage beet is earlier to mature than other storage varieties; a perfect late summer-sown beet to fill the winter pantry.
