An older cultivar, known for its sweet, stunningly beautiful dark red-purple tops and remarkable flavor. Leaves very hardy and excellent in salad mix. Dark red roots of good sweetness and quality. For salad mix, directly sow very thickly and cut in about 28 days. Should regrow for another cutting if kept moist and well fertilized. Tops 35 days, roots 55 days.
Detroit Dark Red
This is a fine mid-season variety with a rich, dark-red interior and uniform 3" shape. An early variety, Detroit Dark Red beets store well and are also good for canning and freezing. The dark-green leaves, striped with red, are wonderful braised or in salads. 59-70 Days.
Early Wonder Tall Top
Tall vigorous dark-green, 20 to 18 inch tops tinged with maroon, excellent for greens. Used as a first early variety of beet for mid-summer sowing and storage. The glossy green, red-veined tops can be Collected for salads as it grows. Dark purplish-red 3 inches flattened globe bunching beet for home gardens. A good all-around beet that also pickles well and stores in the ground over winter. 48-60 days.
Golden Detroit Beet round, orange roots stay gold-yellow when cooked and has a very sweet taste even when large. A beautiful beet that won't bleed like red beets. Same texture and flavor as red beets without the red juice. The greens are very tasty too. Good bolt resistance and stores well. 55 days.
